Spaced Repetition: Conquer the Curve of Forgetting

Forgetting curve

Ebbinghaus's curve of forgetting shows that if a conscious effort is made to retain the knowledge, by revisiting it periodically, the likelihood of it embedding in long-term memory is dramatically improved. The proactive practice of such revision would become known as spaced repetition.

This website maintains an automated vocabulary review list for each user, and it can make spaced repetition easier.

  • When you use Ctrl+Alt to reveal an answer during dictation, the word is automatically added to your vocabulary review list.
  • Words in your review list will be randomly presented to you during your normal practice until you answer them correctly five times.
  • You have the option to have review sessions focusing on words added to your review list in different time ranges, allowing you to practice spaced repetition.
